City buses and cross country Greyhound busses transport the diversity of humanity with each seat occupied by a wealth of life experiences rich in dramas from the pinnacles of love to the depths of unimagined sorrow. All are locked in the secret place of soul, waiting for a key to release their treasures.
The key is always another soul willing to be awake to the presence of hidden treasures. Hilario is such a treasure hunter – riding buses by choice, eager to allow treasures to be freed.
All it takes is a look, a smile, some simple acknowledgement of another soul’s existence as the key allowing treasures to pour forth. The waiting drama of joy, pain or searching for an answer comes forward as the magic gift for another soul to hear.
And, Hilario, in moving past judgment and fear, listens and responds with an open loving heart to all that is offered. Yet often, when he looks back at a particular bus conversation, he realizes that, by the simple act of giving up judgment, he was the one blessed with answers to many of his own questions and dramas.
